Used to be, modeling and being plus-size don’t mix. Things are beginning to change though. There is a growing plus size fashion industry. Contests for the best plus size fashion model are booming. Some famous designers are now beginning to address the needs of plus-size customers.

In New York, there is a school which conducts training for potential plus-size models. It’s called The Plus Size Academy and it was established back in 1999. Besides teaching modelling basics, students are given guidance and counseling. The Academy is a great institution which helps young people achieve their dreams in modelling.
